The Department of Nursing Education Services, in collaboration with Poverty Eradication Initiative (PEI) organised a special programme of clinical skills training at CIME.
The healthcare providers were selected from Sindh Peoples Health Programme (SPHP) hospitals, and provided intensive training to enable them to disseminate guidelines and train others in the appropriate use of this equipment. These 'Master Trainers' were thus equipped with the knowledge and tools to cascade trainings at their respective facilities and to promote peer to peer learning. The supplies were of a very high quality, and provided in sufficient quantity in order to fully equip the selected hospitals. Clinical services focused on were Infection Control, Nursing, Clinical Laboratory, Anaesthesia and the Operating Room, Radiology, and Physiotherapy.
AKUH facilitators from all the mentioned disciplines provided 5 days long training to two groups of Master trainers from March 26-30 & April 2-6, 2018 at CIME focusing on theoretical & practical aspects of appropriate use of these supplies.
