As the media and communications landscape continues to undergo unprecedented transformation driven by technological advancements and changing audience behaviours, the role of the role of communicators in any organization has become pivotal. To address this, the Aga Khan University Graduate School of Media and Communications (GSMC) has launched two executive education courses in the media and communications field. The courses dubbed, 'Media Engagement for Impact' and 'Strategic Digital Communications', aim to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to leverage the power for positive change and to navigate the fast-paced world of digital communications.
The eight-week courses will be taught by award-winning faculty and seasoned industry leaders in a flexible learning environment that combines in-person sessions and online classes delivered via Zoom.
“In a world where information is paramount, these executive courses will empower professionals to become catalysts for positive change through effective storytelling and strategic digital communication," said Prof. Nancy Booker, Dean at GSMC. “They are a representation of our unwavering commitment to excellence in media and communication education and training and I am certain that participants will be equipped with the skills and insights needed to make a lasting impact in their communities and organisations."
Designed for experienced professionals in the media and communications field, and beyond, the courses will begin on October, 2023 and will cost Ksh. 90,000. Participants will receive a certificate after successfully completing the respective courses.
GSMC was launched in 2015 to be a premier source of education and provide tailored training for journalists, communicators, media executives and entrepreneurs in East Africa and beyond. The School is part of the University's heritage especially as AKU celebrates 40 years since receiving a Charter from the Government of Pakistan.
