Introduction    

Lot Quality Assurance Sampling (LQAS) is a two-stage sampling plan applied for rapid monitoring of coverage of health intervention. LQAS is a relatively rapid and inexpensive approach to data collection and is primarily used for Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) purposes. This method is used to empower programme managers to evaluate programme performance. The LQAS method enables these managers to assess achievement of programmes’ objectives and targets within a specific unit of interest (a geographical area, a facility, an organization, or any other catchment area).

Goal

The course aims to provide participants with a step-by-step approach to conduct population-based surveys using LQAS for both baseline and on-going M&E assessments.

Educational Strategies

The course follows a workshop approach, facilitated through lectures, hands-on training, group work, Audio-visual aids, and videos.

Medium of Instruction

The medium of instruction for the course is English. Participants are expected to be proficient enough to comprehend, read and write in the English language.

Duration of the Course

The five half-day (9:00 am-1:30 pm) course is scheduled to be offered from April 10-14, 2017, both days inclusive. 

Tuition Fee

The tuition fee of course is Rs 9,000 (US$ 125 applicable for international participants). The tuition fee covers classroom instructions, course material, and refreshments during working hours.
