Dr. Adil Haider Dean - Medical College, AKU Pakistan
Dr Adil Haider is a proud AKU Alumni, from the MBBS Class of 1998 after which he attained a Master in Public Health degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He is a practicing Trauma and Acute Care surgeon and a renowned international expert in healthcare access and disparities. Dr Haider has published more than 350 peer-reviewed papers and has been PI on extramural grants worth more than 14 million USD. He has served as a visiting professor at more than 30 internationally celebrated universities and has held numerous leadership positions in medical and surgical societies including serving as the President of the Association for Academic Surgery. Dr. Haider also serves as an active member of the Prime Minister’s National Task Force on Health.

Dr. Junaid Razzak Founding Director
Dr. Junaid Razzak earned his MBBS degree at the Aga Khan University and completed his residency in emergency medicine at Yale University. He also holds a doctoral degree in Public Health from Karolinska Institute. Dr. Razzak is currently associated with Weill Cornell Medicine as Vice Chair Research and previously served as Director of the Center for Global Emergency Care at the Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Razzak is an accomplished researcher who brings a wealth of research experience in emergency medicine, medical informatics and public health. He is one the few NIH funded researchers in the area of global emergency medicine and has worked at the NIH as a visiting scientist. Dr. Razzak has published more than 130 peer reviewed manuscripts on topics ranging from emergency care and vulnerable communities to innovation and technology.

Dr. Huba Atiq Assistant Director
Dr. Huba Atiq is an alumnus of the AKU Medical College's PGME and Pakistan's 1st Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician trained from The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto. Currently, she is leading AKU's National Tele-ICU project and working as a Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician for AKUH. During her time at ChildLife Foundation, she led the COVID19 Task Force, developed and implemented various capacity-building training programmes for pediatric emergency healthcare workers, and integrated telemedicine and e-learning orientation programmes. Dr. Atiq is certified by the University of Toronto in 'Developing Programmes with an Impact' and her research interests include emergency medicine, trauma capacity building and training, implementation research, and technology.

Dr. Noor Baig Physician in-lead - Pakistan Life Savers Programme
Dr. Noor Baig (MBBS, FCPS - Medicine) is pulling the strings behind the Centre's flasghip Pakistan Life Savers Programme as a lead physician. Dr. Baig is also serving as an Assistant Professor for the Department of Emergency Medicine - AKUH. Dr. Baig is a graduate in Creativity and Change Leadership from the Buffalo State College, State University of New York and a PhD Scholar and Fellow for the Fogarty International. Dr. Baig's research interests include epidemiology and outcomes of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in LMICs.

Dr. Natasha Shaukat Senior Instructor - Research
Dr. Natasha Shaukat's (MBBS, FCPS - Community Medicine) research interests include; injury epidemiology, injury prevention, occupational health, community-based surveys, trauma registries, and surveillance systems. Dr. Shaukat has implemented several community-based research projects within and outside AKU in collaboration with other universities and public health institutes nationally and internationally. Dr. Shaukat is currently working towards the development of a multi-center hospital-based trauma registry in leading tertiary care hospitals in Karachi, Pakistan.

Dr. Ayesha Abbasi Senior Instructor - Research
Dr. Ayesha Abbasi's (FCPS Emergency Medicine, MSc Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Fellow Research Fogarty JHU-ICTIRT ) research interests include Trauma and Disaster Management with Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Tools. Dr. Abbasi has designed a Machine Learning model for detection of pneumothorax in polytrauma patients and is currently working on a triage machine learning model for the development of a screening tool for traumatic chest injuries. She is also working on EMS data management systems and has authored multiple publications. Her areas of interest include research capacity development and designing a National Research curriculum for emergency medicine trainees.

Fazila Bibi Research Specialist
Fazila Bibi (Msc Epidemiology and Biostatistics, AKU) is an AKU-SONAM alumni, from the class of 2016. Currently, she is working as Research Specialist and oversees Trauma Registry Project. Her previous work includes working as a Research Associate for the Department of Surgery, Aga Khan University and working as an Assistant Program Manager Data Analytics at Maternal and Child Health at Interactive Research and Development (IRD).

Tasbeeh Fayaz Coordinator - Marketing and Communications
Tasbeeh Fayaz (MBA -Marketing IoBM) oversees the Centre's communication strategy, digital marketing, online visibility, content conceptualization, design, and editorial functions. With a thorough experience in content marketing, Tasbeeh is also serving as the Centre's web and SEO expert, design lead, and the Chief Writer/Editor for the Pakistan Life Savers Programme newsletter, social media, email campaigns, and relevant editorials regarding the Centre's research and capacity building initiatives.

Ume-e-Aiman Chhipa Research Specialist Initially an occupational therapist, Ume-e-Aiman Chhipa (MSc Biostatistics and Epidemiology, AKU) now serves the Centre as a Research Specialist for the iRise Project. Aiman has previously been associated with AKU as an innovation fellow at the CCIT and describes innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship as her forte. A hardcore researcher by the day and innovator by the night, Aiman also has the privilege of co-founding two start-up projects - Rinder and Maseeha Health. She has been involved with Community Health Medicine as a Research Consultant for their London Imperial College project BOLD. Her major interests include occupational health, trauma injury, environmental epidemiology, mental health, and frugal innovation.
|  Batul Fatimah Assistant Manager - Grants and Administration
Batul (MBA, BBA in Health Care Management) oversees the Centre's Grant Management, Project Management, and Financial Managment. Batul has successfully implemented a complete Sign Off Research Tracking (SORT) system to standardize the Award & Post-Award operations at the AKU. She has also worked in implementation of multiple research projects within AKU and worked in collaboration with agencies like BMGF, Sick Kids & UCL.

M. Sohaib IqbalPLSP Lead Trainer M. Sohaib (MSc Health Management) oversees the training and execution functions of the Pakistan Life Savers Programme. As a former clinical trainer at Aman Foundation, Sohaib has trained over 60,000 Individuals in pre-hospital Trauma and Medical Emergencies. Sohaib has also been associated with the American Heart Association as an instructor and expert in pre-hospital life support and medical emergencies.
| Ayaz Ilyas PLSP Lead Trainer
Initially, a civil engineer, Ayaz's journey as a clinical trainer started after he embarked on the BLS training under the American Heart Association. Ayaz Ilyas is currently a Pakistan Life Savers Programme Lead Trainer. Previously, Ayaz was associated with the Emergency Medicine Department at AKU as a Senior Research Assistant and has dedicated innumerable hours to CPR and BLS trainings.
