Research in AKU’s Medical College, Pakistan spans many disciplines but particularly emphasises problems of the developing world, such as investigation of the causes and treatment of childhood diarrhoea, studies of the immunological characteristics of tuberculosis and leprosy, and community-based health systems development. National Health Sciences Research Symposium
The annual event allows for interaction with national and international leading professionals and the unique opportunity to promote research ideas, and enjoy all that the vibrant city of Karachi has to offer.

Health Sciences Research Assembly

The Assembly plays a significant role in dissemination and promotion of research within the AKU community and provides the opportunity to showcase research work undertaken in the last year.
Educational Research Day (DED)
The event aims to provide a platform for dissemination of research across the entire continuum of education in all AKU campuses with special focus on Health Professions Education.
