This course is aimed at AKU staff who need to use a high level of English to participate effectively in meetings, especially in meetings with senior AKU management. It is a face-to-face course with an online component.
The aim of the course is to develop the language and skills needed to participate in meetings at a C1 level in the CEFR. This means, for example, being able to follow complex discussions, make meaningful contributions to these discussions, and use meeting management skills ensure productive outcomes.
To ensure you are actively engaged in the learning process, a task-based approach is used. The tasks will involve you in preparing for meetings, participating in meetings, and reflecting on their performance in meetings. A variety of work-related scenarios are covered, including informal and formal meetings.
The course runs for eight weeks. There is a two-hour class each week and at least one hour’s online study each week related to these classes.
