About the Seminar
AKU states that Critical Thinking is one of its graduate attributes. As a university lecturer, you have a deep commitment to critical thinking (CT) but, like many others, may wonder how effective you are in teaching for CT in your courses.  In this workshop, we will address several of the fundamental issues in teaching for CT. Guided by Nobel Prize recipient Herb Simon’s observation that “the teacher can advance learning only by influencing what the student does to learn”, we will examine our basic understandings of CT that guides our teaching and assessment practices and examine how we translate our views of CT into our teaching practice.
