Translating Commitments to Action: A Leading Role for Academia to Accelerate Global Development is a Nairobi Summit on ICPD25 side event.
The event is co-organized by UNFPA, the Leitner Center for International Law and Justice at Fordham Law School, the Consortium of Universities for Global Health, the International Centre for Reproductive Health (ICRH), the Academic Network for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Policy (ANSER), the Aga Khan University (AKU) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
The event will highlight the key role that universities and education institutions play in generating knowledge, analysis, and expertise needed to accelerate the ICPD Programme of Action and the implementation of the SDGs as a universal and interlinked agenda.
This event will include five panel discussions as well as a keynote discussion, and a call to action. The panelists will discuss specific projects or research undertaken in relation to the panel topic, focusing on best practices and effective ways to advance these issues. There will be time for interaction with the audience as part of each panel to facilitate greater engagement with the issues.
