Dr Muhammad Waseem
Dr Waseem after obtaining his BSc in Biotechnology proceeded to complete his MS and PhD in Molecular Medicine from the Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research, University of Karachi, Pakistan.
Following his PhD, Dr Waseem undertook postdoctoral studies at the Lawson Health Research, St. Joseph Healthcare London in Ontario Canada, where he was involved in the identification of mechanisms by which bone-marrow derived stem cells can promote the regeneration of insulin-producing cells in the pancreas of diabetic mice.
Dr Waseem holds international experience in animal surgery, pre and post-surgery animal monitoring, transgenic mouse colony management, and core laboratory research techniques.
Dr Waseem is currently interested in understanding differentiation potential of inducing pluripotent stem cells into insulin-producing cells and hepatocytes, both in-vitro and in-vivo.
