Dr Mohammad Yusuf
Dr Mohammad Yusuf holds a BSc Honours in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the School of Applied Sciences at the University of Huddersfield. In 2003, he did his Masters of Research in Biological Sciences from the Department of Biological Sciences, University of Manchester followed by PhD in Genetics from the Department of Biosciences at the University of Kent in 2006. He spent a year at the University of Cambridge during his PhD studies.
Dr Yusuf has worked at various international institutes and universities including Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, University of Bristol; Cytogenetics Core Facility at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics, University of Oxford; London Centre for Nanotechnology, University College London; and Brunel University London.
Dr Yusuf has developed many research protocols and techniques in molecular cytogenetics. He has experience in laboratory management and setup and holds more than 12 years of experience in chromosome analysis and imaging.
Dr Yusuf has published in his area of research focus. He is a scientific journal reviewer for the BMC Genetics Journal, Journal of Synchrotron Radiation and Nature Scientific Reports. He is also a research grant reviewer for Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council since 2015.
• Cytogenetic analysis of chromosomal instability in induced pluripotent stem cells, morphogenesis, and differentiation and 3D cell-scaffold interactions.
• Development of an academic cytogenetics research core.
