Yusuf H. Keshavjee

Mr Keshavjee is a Social Entrepreneur involved in several organizations that impact thousands of lives in the East African Region. 

He has given extensive honorary service to various organizations, including as a member of Advisory Committees of the Ford Foundation Philanthropy Initiative, Kenya as well as that of the World Bank/IFC Grassroots Based Organisation to develop social enterprises in East Africa.

Mr Keshavjee has volunteered with the AKDN for several decades, more recently as the Chairman of the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) in East Africa, which has initiatives in rural development, health, education and civil society enhancement. As part of his senior leadership in the Ismaili community, he was President of its Council for Kenya with jurisdiction over the DRC, Rwanda, Burundi and South Africa. 

He was one of four individuals chosen to represent Kenya at President Barack Obama's Entrepreneurial Summit in Washington DC in 2010.

Mr Keshavjee earned his Economics degree with Honours from the London School of Economics and is a graduate of an Executive Management Programme at Harvard Business School.

He was honoured with a "Head of State Commendation" by President Kibaki in 2005.

Mr Keshavjee joined as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Aga Khan University in 2006.​
