Mr Asif B. Fancy

Mr Fancy is responsible for cultivating and soliciting high net worth donors for major gifts for new buildings in Pakistan And East Africa. Subsequent to receipt of pledges, Mr Fancy takes on the role of stewardship, communication and reporting with these donors. Current projects in Pakistan include the Centre of Excellence, Women & Child Health Care; Centre for Regenerative Medicine; and in East Africa, the University Centre in Nairobi and the Aga Khan University Hospital, Kampala.
Mr Fancy also represents AKU in dialogues with the Government Authorities with respect to matters connected with the planned Aga Khan University – Faculty of Arts & Sciences on the Link Road Campus.
Mr Fancy graduated from the University of Lancaster, United Kingdom in 1967 with a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) Degree majoring in Economics. Soon thereafter, he returned to Pakistan to join his family business and had short stints in various enterprises including a textile plant, and a commercial bank. In 1994, he started his own manufacturing and exporting handmade carpets. He joined AKU in 1997 as Senior Director, Resource Development and Public Affairs.
Since 1980, Mr Fancy has served various Aga Khan Development Network in an honorary capacity, including as Chairman of Aga Khan Education Services, Pakistan in late 1980s and Aga Khan Rural Support Programme.
