AKU Faculty and Staff Circle the Globe

Dr Ali Khan Khuwaja, Senior Instructor, Department of Family Medicine, attended the 'Robert Turner Clinical Research Course in Diabetes' at the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism, in Oxford, U K, in April.
   
Dr Rafat Jan, Assistant Professor and Director BScN Programme, AKU-SON, attended a three day workshop on 'International Classification for Nursing Practice', sponsored by the International Council of Nurses, in Taipei, Taiwan, in May.
   

Dr Nilofar Vazir, Senior Instructor at AKU-IED , presented the paper 'Learning About Right and Wrong: Perspectives of Primary Students of Class I in a Private School in Pakistan' at a conference titled 'International Congress for School Effectiveness and Improvement' in Barcelona, Spain , in January.

   
Dr Jane Alam Khaki, Senior Instructor at AKU-IED, presented the paper on 'Higher Education in Developing Countries - Interventions in Teacher Education: Challenges and Responses' at a conference titled 'Higher Education in Developing Countries: with a Focus on Muslim contexts organised by AKU-ISMC in London, UK, in February.
   
Debora Kramer Roy, Senior Instructor at AKU-IED, presented two papers titled 'Working Towards Inclusive Education at AKU-IED' and 'Principles and Strategies for Developing Effective In-Service Courses that Prepare Teachers for Inclusive Education' at the conference 'North South Dialogue III: Implementing Inclusive Education and Moving Towards Global Alliance' held in Delhi, India, in February.
   
Dr Mir Afzal Tajik, Senior Instructor at AKU-IED, presented the paper on 'The Role of External Change Agents in School Change' at the 'Comparative International Education society (CIES)' conference held in Stanford, CA, USA, in March.
   
The paper 'Leading, Learning and Teaching: A Case from Pakistan' was presented by Dr Ayesha Bashiruddin, Assistant Professor at AKU-IED, at the TESOL Arabia Conference held in Dubai, UAE , in March.
   
John Arudo, Senior Lecturer, presented the paper 'Causes of Death among Fishermen in Lake Victoria, Kenya' at the second South African AIDS Conference in South Africa on June 7.
