Dr. Robert Baker
Appointed Provost
Dr.
Robert Baker has been appointed Provost of AKU. The Provost is the
Chief Academic Officer of the University, reporting directly to
the President.
Dr. Baker joined
AKU as Professor and Director of the Institute for Educational Development
in 1997. In 2000, he was appointed Director General, Planning with
the responsibility to initiate a planning office at the University.
Prior to joining AKU, he worked in South and South East Asian countries
as a consultant and team leader on the design and evaluation of
national social sector programmes with various international agencies.
He has held faculty and management positions at universities in
Australia and Canada.
Dr. Baker completed
his undergraduate study at the University of Melbourne and Masters
and PhD degrees in Sociology of Education at the University of
Toronto.
