Mr Currimbhoy was involved in the jute industry in the then East Pakistan from 1955 until 1971 when he moved to Karachi after the emergence of Bangladesh. In 1977, he participated in the planning and construction of
Aga Khan University. He became the Chairman of the Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan (AKHS,P) in 1986 and later the Chairman of the Aga Khan Education Service, Pakistan (AKES,P). He is a Trustee of AKU since 1990.
