One of the most significant transformations taking place at the University is the planned establishment of Aga Khan University Faculties of Arts and Sciences (AKU-FAS) for Pakistan and East Africa - a major step towards building a comprehensive university.
AKU will establish a residential campus in Karachi that will double the current student body while tripling its physical facilities. In Tanzania, the Arusha campus will be the University's first permanent campus in East Africa, serving students from across the region.
The investment in physical facilities will be matched by programmes intended to have far-reaching impact.
Quality human resource is one of the greatest challenges to development in Pakistan and East Africa. AKU will play a pivotal role in developing leaders who are well-equipped to drive the social and economic revitalization of both these regions.
