Professional Interest Groups

There are five Professional Interest Groups at Aga Khan University School of Nursing (AKU-SON) organised by nursing faculty. The chairs of these groups report directly to Associate Dean of AKU-SON. These professional interest groups include Mental Health, Community Health, Child Health, Adult Health and Science and Humanities. Besides AKU-SON faculty, nurses from AKU and other hospitals and Schools of Nursing are members of these Professional Interest Groups.

Major activities of these groups include:

  • Sharing resources at local and national levels;
  • Discussing issues related to education and service within their interest area;
  • Exploring innovative teaching strategies to enhance participant learning;
  • Providing consultation on national basis;
  • Exploring problems or research questions related to their interest area;
  • Organising and conducting workshops at national level.
