AKU organises ‘2nd International Critical Care Symposium’

As part of its social responsibility and commitment to the advancement of health research and education, Aga Khan University (AKU) regularly holds seminars, symposia and conferences to raise the awareness about health related issues which are of national and international importance.
The 2nd International Critical Care Symposium, with its theme of "Critical Care in Developing Countries - Challenges and Opportunities" is being organised by Aga Khan University Hospital's (AKUH) Department of Anaesthesia, in collaboration with the Critical Care Physicians, Department of Medicine and Critical Care Nursing.

The Symposium, to be held from April 11-15, 2007, follows the successful "1st Symposium" held in 2005. The 2007 symposium will include a number of national and international speakers as well as participants. They will share their expertise with the objective of improving the practice of critical care. In addition to the main symposium, pre-symposium courses on Adult Cardiac Life Support and Trauma have been organised.

In addition, there are a number of post-symposium workshops covering skills required in intensive care unit for physicians and nurses.
