Hospital (AKUH) is pleased to announce the opening of Gulshan-e-Iqbal
Medical Services on February 23, 2004, as part of its objective
of providing accessible, compassionate and high quality health care
to patients and their families. The facility is part of the Hospital's
outreach programme which aims to provide easy and convenient access
to patients residing in distant areas of the city. The opening of
Gulshan-e-Iqbal Medical Services is a testament to AKU's rapid growth
and its aim of providing the best possible options for diagnosis
of disease and team management of patient care comparable to the
best medical centres.

To enhance patient
care, a comfortable waiting area combined with a friendly ambience
has also been created.
 LABORATORY
SPECIMEN COLLECTION UNIT
All specimens
are transported to the main laboratory at AKUH according to the
international standards for storage and transportation of pathological
specimens.
For routine
laboratory specimens, given before 10 AM, reports can be collected
on the very same day, after 7:30 PM.
Accuracy and
precision of test are maintained by strict internal quality assurance
programme, which is reviewed by consultants and supervisors.

8:00 AM to
8:30 PM (Monday to Saturday)
8:00 AM to 3:00 PM (Sunday)
 PHARMACY
(Opening April 5, 2004)
- Pharmacy
services are offered under the supervision of graduate pharmacists
who will provide complete information related to drugs and their
usage.
- All drugs
are stored at a controlled temperature to maintain their validity
and efficacy.
- Pharmacy
services have the facility to prepare special drug formulations
for patients if requested by their doctors.
