participating in the contest AKU team managed to reach the quarter final.

AKU faced Lahore University of Management Sciences, Lahore team for the semi finals and defeated them by 4:1 margin (Adjudicators’ Decision); AKU met Hindu College, Dehli, India Team-B for the finals and defeated them with 5:2 margins.

- Dean's Debating Challenge Trophy 2007

The first ever running trophy for AKU, was instituted by the Dean of AKU Medical College in May 2007, for students of AKU. The three day event including a Parliamentary Debate, an Urdu play and student-faculty alumni panel discussion was organised in collaboration by AKU Students Bio-Ethic Forum and AKU Students Public Speaking Forum.
Winners were awarded the trophy with a cash prize of PKR 1000 each and runner-ups were presented a prize of PKR 500 each.

Amad Khan and Omer Tarar secured 1st position, trophy and cash prize of PKR 1,500/-; Muhammad Umair Bashir and Shahid Sattar, obtained 2nd position and a cash prize of PKR 1,000/-; and Hassan Sajjad and Moneeb Virk obtained 3rd position and a cash prize of PKR 500/-.

Muhammad Umair Bashir and Omer Tarar represented AKU. Teams from AKU, Government College, Lahore and DHA Women's College, Karachi shared the 2nd position (shield). In addition to this, Omer Tarar won Consolation Prize for his speech in Urdu.
