Obstetrics and Gynaecology
The Obstetrics and Gynaecology residency programme at AKUH, Karachi commenced on November 1, 1987. At present, there are 24 postgraduate trainees in the programme. An important criterion for selecting the candidates is the desire to do postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and his/her willingness to undertake a rigorous four-year programme. The training is approved by the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, UK. Recently our program has also been accredited by ACGME International. The general guidelines for the programme are set by the central PGME Committee.
