Adult Infectious Diseases
Fellowship training in Infectious Diseases has been reviewed and approved by the Postgraduate Medical Education Committee of Aga Khan University and commenced in January 2010. The programme is designed to develop fully trained Infectious Diseases physicians who would be able to complete the requirements for FCPS in infectious diseases.
Training at AKU in this discipline offers a unique experience in adult infectious diseases with exposure to a wide range of both inpatient and outpatient infections as well as in-house rotations in the clinical microbiology laboratory and paediatric infectious diseases, experience in infection control and antimicrobial stewardship as well as ample opportunities for electives outside of the institute.
