Department of Anaesthesiology Residency Programme
Message from the Programme Director
One of the missions of Aga Khan University is to promote academic and clinical training for postgraduate trainees. The general objective of our programme is to produce qualified and trained anaesthesiologists, capable of functioning in a variety of clinical inpatient, outpatient, and critical care settings.
The university seeks to prepare individuals for constructive and exemplary leadership roles, and shaping public and private policies, through strength in research and excellence in education, all dedicated to providing meaningful contributions to society.
The main objective of the anaesthesia programme is to train residents to become specialists in anaesthesiology, critical care and pain medicine. By the end of the four years programme, it is expected that a graduate will be a medical expert, a good communicator, a collaborator, a team player, a leader/manager, a health advocate, a scholar as well as a professional all wrapped into one, ready to serve not only the Kenyan and East African population but also the world at large.
