Women's Residences

AKU places great emphasis on the advancement of women in its programmes and recruits female faculty and staff from all over Pakistan and abroad. An on-campus accommodation facility has been provided to encourage out-station women to pursue a career at AKU. The Karimi, Noor and Arman Rupani Residences are named after the three families that contributed generously to the development of this residential complex. They meet the needs of professional out-station women by offering safe, secure and convenient on-campus facilities that serve as a home away from home. The facility is serviced with fully equipped rooms, laundry, pantries, common lounges, visiting lounge and a cafeteria to serve the needs of the residents.

Employee Assistance Programme

AKU has taken an additional initiative for the welfare of its faculty and staff by offering an Employee Assistance Programme. This programme provides confidential and professional assistance to help employees identify and resolve problems that affect their personal lives or job performance. Besides being confidential, the programme is voluntary – it is designed to allow the employees to seek help on their own. The Human Resources Division is responsible for the administration of the programme for ensuring that standards of quality and confidentiality are met. Qualified counselors having expertise in the related field provide counseling services to the users.
