Director, Materials Management
Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Director,
Materials Management.
Responsibilities
The Director, Materials Management will be responsible for the strategic development, execution and management of the materials management and supply chain function for AKU. S/he will also identify cost-effective methods needed to support the activities of the University taking into account business trends, resource availability and changes in customers.
The position requires building effective working relationships with all constituencies, including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors. The Director will identify and remedy operational concerns while continuously searching for performance improvement in operations and standards and work with and advise other sister AKDN institutions in order to share the benefits of group purchase processes.
Requirements
Candidates should have:
- A Postgraduate Degree from an accredited university and a designation of Certified Purchasing Manager or Accredited Purchasing Practitioner is desirable;
- Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in materials management and/or related department in large, multi-country, multi-size organisations, preferably in health related institutions;
- Excellent written and interpersonal skills;
- Familiarity with sourcing practices and have a solid foundation in vendor relationship management;
- Strong problem identification and resolution skills, on an individual and team basis;
- Experience working with a major ERP, such as PeopleSoft, would be an added advantage.
