Chief Information Officer
Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of
Chief Information Officer (CIO).
Responsibilities
The CIO will be responsible to provide technology vision and leadership in the development and implementation of the University-wide Information and Communications Technology (ICT) strategy. S/he will introduce appropriate information systems and technology to optimise benefits from emerging technology, assure seamless operation of systems, contribute in formulating strategic goals to reshape AKU’s physical infrastructure and network access, and identify and engage the institution's knowledge resources.
The CIO will plan, manage, lead and innovate so as to assure seamless operation of systems at all times; continually analyse and rework existing business processes in order to identify and develop the capability to use new tools; serve as key contributor in formulating strategic goals that evaluate reshaping the institution's physical infrastructure and network access; and identify and engage the institution's knowledge resources. S/he will also provide leadership to ensure that the ICT strategy meets, and supports delivery of growth and business strategy of AKU.
Requirements
Candidates should have:
- Masters degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Sciences or Business Administration from an accredited University;
- Minimum ten years of progressively responsible management and leadership experience in information technology;
- Experience in managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams, including enterprise-wide application deployments, and in developing and implementing strategic and tactical plans (significant experience in an academic and health delivery environment is desirable);
- Excellent communication and project management skills;
- Strong problem identification and resolution skills, on an individual and team basis;
- Capability to focus, set goals and objectives and be results oriented.
