Senior Environmental Epidemiologist

Aga Khan University, chartered in 1983 as Pakistan's first private international university, is committed to the provision of education, research and health care of international standard relevant to Pakistan and the region. The University's Medical College comprises several clinical departments, a Department of Biological and Biomedical Sciences and a Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS). The affiliated Aga Khan University Hospital has well-equipped investigative services and provides state-of-the-art clinical facilities. The Department of CHS is the leading unit of its type in Pakistan, recognised regionally and internationally for the relevance, quality and extent of its work in support of public health and the development of primary health care systems. The department comprises four major operational units: epidemiology and biostatistics, health systems, public health practice and reproductive health.

Applicants are invited for the position of Senior Environmental Epidemiologist.

This is a full-time faculty position at the level of Associate or Assistant Professor.

Requirements
Candidates should possess the following:

• A doctoral degree in environmental health or epidemiology from a reputed university;
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, teaching epidemiology at graduate level, leadership in conducting research and writing successful grant proposals;
• Expertise and/or programme experience in environmental health science. 
• Experience of successfully supervising graduate research work;
• A commitment to the improvement of the quality of teaching, learning and research in developing countries;
• A strong record of publications in peer review national/international journals;
• Ability to provide conceptual and technical input to a diverse range of epidemiological research studies in the department;
• Experience in educational institutions in developing countries will be an added advantage.
