Director, Professional Services
Aga Khan University Hospital seeks a results-driven professional with the ability to provide informed leadership in challenging times. The ideal candidate must possess a strong track record of developing products/services in the health care arena combined with substantial breadth of experience in overseeing service delivery in both academic medicine and managed care. The successful candidate should have a consensus-building management style with the ability to quickly identify, shape and respond to customers’ as well as institutional needs. S/he should have solid experience with robust, credible and commercially successful professional institutions. The Director, Professional Services will play a vital role in shaping and leading a diverse and highly skilled and experienced team of health care professionals.
Requirements
Candidates must have Masters degree, preferably an MBA, from a recognised national or foreign university along with 10-12 years of post-degree management-level experience with a service industry, preferably in health care. Competencies include fluency in written and spoken English.
Responsibilities
- Planning, organising, controlling and leading operations of the Hospital Diagnostic services such as Radiology, Cardiopulmonary, etc as well as Pharmacy, Food Services, Central Sterile Supplies, Health Information Management Services, and Ancillary Service areas;
- Developing qualitative and quantitative indicators to monitor performance in the designated areas and take timely remedial measures where necessary;
- Developing marketing and strategic growth plans for the services;
- Working with the service departments in motivating, inspiring and developing the members on the team;
- Helping develop and overseeing operating and capital budgets for the above based on approved departmental goals;
- Overseeing and strengthening adherence to JCIA/ ISO standards;
- Maintaining and furthering effective communications with clinical faculty and referring physicians;
- Planning and coordinating efficient delivery systems with other stakeholders such as Nursing, Technical and other staff;
- Monitoring and orchestrating development of the off-campus clinics and diagnostic centres.
