Administrative Director, Clinical Laboratory

Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi (AKUH,K) invites applications for the position of Administrative Director, Clinical Laboratory.

Responsibilities
The selected candidate should be a visionary team leader as well as an innovative, strategic thinker who can provide technical and administrative oversight to Aga Khan University Hospital's clinical laboratories. The laboratories comprise a tertiary lab, 12 stat labs, 170 phlebotomy stations and a number of upcoming regional labs in Lahore and Hyderabad.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring smooth functioning of the laboratories and that the standards of testing and budgetary goals are achieved in accordance with the strategic direction of the department;
• Enabling high quality of staff training and performance, seamless commissioning and management of upcoming phlebotomy stations and testing facilities;
• Working closely with pathologists to develop a culture of quality, teamwork and operational efficiency (an important goal will be to work with the faculty to secure CAP accreditation).

Requirements
Applicants should have:

• Master's degree in Biological Sciences or Medical Technology, preferably with an MBA;
• At least 15 years' relevant experience that embodies comprehensive knowledge of  laboratory testing procedures;
• Strong financial insight and interpersonal/communication skills;
• Experience in university teaching hospitals preferred.
