Sikeena Karmali Sikeena Karmali is Assistant Manager, Publications and Editing. She has a Master of Arts in English and Cultural Studies from the American University in Cairo and Bachelor of Arts in Middle East and Cultural Studies from McGill University, Canada. Sikeena has written two books, a collection of poetry entitled Places to Remember and an award winning novel entitled A House by the Sea. She was also the Editor of ascent magazine from 2003 to 2005 during which time it won two Utne Independent Press Awards. She has recently received a Canada Council Grant for her second (forthcoming) novel as well as a UNESCO-Aschberg Writer’s Residency at Centre D’Art Marnay Sur Seine, France. She has served on the Canada Council for the Arts Peer Jury for Literature and Publications. Her articles on Human Rights and Muslim Culture have been translated into French and Italian.
