Anushka Shahrouz obtained her MA in Political Science/International Relations (University of Florence, Italy) specialising in contemporary Iranian politics. Her dissertation focused on continuity and change in leadership in the first decade of the Islamic republic of Iran. She then moved to London where she received an MSc in Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). Anushka joined AKU-ISMC in its early days in 2002 as Library Administrator where she was in charge of setting up the Institute’s library collection. At present she is working as Research Assistant, and is the project coordinator for the Islam in Contemporary Thought Project as well as supporting faculty members, developing resources for the website, providing information on academic and cultural events and developing a scholar’s database.
