Class of 2008 Student Profiles
 

Nina Hirji Kheraj completed her BA in Economics and Film at Vasser College, USA and her post graduate qualification in Film and Television Production at the National Film & Television School, UK. Her areas of academic interest include: how Muslim art, architecture and literature are used as a means of devotional expression; gender and female iconography; and the concept of childhood within Muslim contexts. Nina has produced nine short films which have won 29 international film awards; she has worked for Miramax Films and Merchant Ivory Films producing commercials and advertising in Russia for global brands. Over the last ten years, Nina has been a volunteer for the Aga Khan institutions. British by citizenry, Nina has lived in Tanzania, Iran, Switzerland and the USA. She speaks English, French and Kutchi and enjoys reading, design and spending time with her son.
