At the State Islamic University of Malang, approximately 200 students attended the session, displaying a real interest in the Institute and its work. At the State University of Jakarta two open days were held, attracting over 250 students while at the University Udayana, Denpasar, Ben Abdeljelil held several information sessions as well as a number of meetings with faculty.

Through these visits and meetings with faculty and students, AKU-ISMC hopes to share its educational vision and learn from other institutions undertaking research and teaching about the study of Muslim cultures and heritages. In doing so, AKU-ISMC is endeavouring to build opportunities for further engagement and collaboration with institutions internationally. As part of this process, during November and December 2007, other AKU-ISMC faculty members visited Canada, Egypt, France, Germany, Iran, Turkey, and the USA.
