Research and Policy Studies Advisory Committee (RAPSAC)
Terms of Reference
Role
The Research and Policy Studies Advisory Committee (RAPSAC) will
recommend on all aspects of research policies, priorities and procedures
to AKU-IED through the Head of RAPS.
More specifically, RAPSAC will provide advice and recommendations
on research priorities, research training, research conference attendance,
research dissemination, internal research grants, quality assurance
and any other aspect of research policy. The Committee may develop
sub-committee structures to assist it in its endeavours.
Membership

- Selected /appointed
Three faculty members will be selected on the basis of post-graduate
research degree, substantial past and present engagement in research,
publication in a refereed journal or equivalent. One member could
be selected on the basis of his/her aspirations to meet the above
criteria.
Time Period of the Committee
- The normal period of service of elected members shall be two
years.
- The Chair of the Committee shall be selected by its members.
In the event of the Chair's absence, the Chair, prior to leaving,
shall designate another member of RAPSAC to perform the duties
of the Chair.
Quorum
The quorum for meetings of the Committee shall be 2/3 of the membership.
