Ms Saima Khalid joined Aga Khan University Institue for Educational Development (AKU-IED) in 2007 as an Assistant Instructor in the area of Early Childhood Education and Development. She served the Institution in conducting Certificate in Education (Cert Ed) at AKU-IED in Karachi as well as at its Professional Development Centres in Northern Areas, Chitral and Azad Jammu Kashmir. She was promoted as Instructor level in the same year.
Ms Saima Khalid has had considerable experience in both academic and programme administration. Before joining AKU-IED, she served Aga Khan Education Service, Pakistan in two different internationally funded projects:
- Improving Pre – Primary and Primary Education in Rural Sind (IPPS – USAID since 1998 – 2003) as Academic and Training Coordinator
- Releasing Confidence and Creativity – An Early Childhood Development Project (RCC – USAID since (2003 – 2006) as Programme Officer (Academic Position)
She has also led a team of teacher educators and community mobilisers and having experience of teaching teachers and teacher
educators in Sindh and Balochistan. She has closely worked with District Government, Department of Education, the School Management Committees and other community members in Sindh.
Ms Saima has been associated with Mathematics Association of Pakistan as Executive Committee member since 2000 and contributed in various workshops, Olympiad and MAP newsletter.
