Ms Syeda Imrana Raza joined Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED) in June 2004 as Educational Designer in Open and Distance Learning (OL) Unit. She was involved in design ing certificate level courses for distant learners. In 2006, she moved to the Early Childhood Education and Development team. In 2007, she was appointed as an Assistant Instructor in the area of Early Childhood Education and Development. She has actively served the Institution in conducting field based Certificate in Education (Cert Ed) at IED in both 2006 and 2007 Karachi programmes and other ECED initiatives. She was promoted as Instructor level in the same year.
She has a Master in Education from University of Karachi (2003) and a Masters in Education (MEd) from the Australian Catholic University, Australia/Notre Dame Institute of Education (NDIE) in Primary Education (2004). She has more than six years of extensive teaching experience in Early Childhood Education (ECE), both at pre-primary and primary levels. Prior to joining AKU-IED, since 1997 she has worked as a primary school teacher in different school systems in Karachi. She also worked as an Academic Consultant and Teacher Educator in two different schools in Karachi. She worked for two years as a part time member of the Notre Dame Institute of Education In-service team in Karachi, Pakistan.
