Meher Rizvi is an Assistant Professor at
Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED). She
joined AKU-IED in July 2004 as Senior Instructor. She
is an active member of AKU-IED's Research and Policy
Advisory Committee (RAPSAC), the Admission Committee,
the Faculty Development Committee and the Earthquake
Rehabilitation Committee. She co-chaired the Programme
Committee for the AKU-IED International Conference on
Education, held in Karachi.
Dr Rizvi's PhD thesis examined the relationships between
school reforms and teacher professionalism in government
primary schools in Pakistan using a mixed methods research
approach.
Dr Rizvi has more than 15 years of extensive teaching
experience. Prior to joining AKU-IED, she was a visiting
lecturer at Notre Dame Institute of Education, Karachi,
where she taught and supervised Bachelor's and Master's
in Education students. She also taught Master of Education
students at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT),
Australia, in the areas of Reflective and Professional
Practice. She served in QUT's Post Graduate Research
Association as an International Students Officer.
Dr Rizvi is a recipient of several awards, distinctions
and scholarships, both from Pakistan and Australia.
