| Dr Mola Dad Shafa is an Assistant Professor at Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED). He joined AKU-IED in August 1999 as a Senior Instructor. After his return from University of Toronto, OISE with a PhD in teacher Education in June 2003, Dr Shafa was posted at AKU-IED/PDCN as a senior faculty. He was first promoted to the position of Coordinator: Academic Programmes and Research at PDCN in April 2001 and to the position of Head, PDCN in November 2004.
Prior to joining AKU-IED, Dr Shafa served Aga Khan Education Services, Pakistan in the Northern Areas of Pakistan in various capacities including working as a teacher, head teacher, Master Trainer, Senior Education Officer, FEO Head and a Programme Officer. Dr Shafa has an extensive experience of designing, conducting and evaluating teacher education programmes. The two documentaries called Teachers of Karakurum and the New Beginning portray Dr Shafa's significant contributions to the cause of education in the Northern Areas of Pakistan.
