Dr Duishon Shamatov joined
Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED)
in September 2000 as a Senior Instructor. He is currently involved in several activities at the Institute, including teaching, conducting research work, and supervising course participants' research and project work.
Dr Shamatov has varied teaching experience. He served as Instructor at the Faculty of World Languages as well as Coordinator of the International Relations Department at the Osh State University. He was also Chair of the English Department at the Kyrgyz-Uzbek University.
He completed his PhD in 2005 and wrote a thesis titled "Beginning Teachers' Professional
Socialisation
in Post-Soviet Kyrgyzstan: Challenges and Coping Strategies".
