Atiya Hussain joined
Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED)
in 1996. Currently, she is a Senior Instructor at the Institute.
At AKU-IED, Ms Hussain is involved in coordinating and teaching MEd, Advanced Diploma and Certificate programmes in Primary Education. Her major areas of specialisation are Primary Education, English Language Teaching and Curriculum Development. She is currently exploring early childhood care and development in
Pakistan. She
is also the Chairperson of the Association of Primary Teachers (APT).
Ms Hussain has extensive experience of teaching and administration in multilingual, multicultural settings in many countries, including UAE, Kuwait and Pakistan. She has travelled extensively and has experience of working with teachers and students both in the US and the UK.
