Partnerships, Linkages, Cooperating Schools and Government Collaboration
Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED) has partnerships with two renowned universities, which are also called partner universities:
- Department of Educational Studies, University of Oxford ;
- Ontario Institute of Studies in Education, University of Toronto .
In addition, AKU-IED has linkages with the Sheffield-Hallam University (UK), Phillips Academy (US), Bristol University (UK), University of Alberta ( Canada ), Oslo College ( Norway ), Aga Khan Development Network and some NGOs.
Also, AKU-IED works with various schools and systems, which are considered as " cooperating schools " of AKU-IED. These are:
- Aga Khan Educational Services (AKES) schools within Pakistan and overseas;
- Selected government schools in Pakistan , East Africa and Central Asia ;
- A selected number of non-profit private schools.
To make an impact on the public sector educational systems, AKU-IED has been working in collaboration with the governments of Pakistan, Zanzibar, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Bangladesh, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria and Afghanistan.
