Introduction
The library is a central part of Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED). It provides educational resources to support the Institute's work. Though it has been established to mainly serve the faculty and students of the Institute, the library is also selectively open to others.
The library provides a range of resources in print and electronic media to support the teaching, learning and research activities of AKU-IED. The library stocks over 17,000 books and 1,500 reports, and subscribes to 130 scholarly journals in education, teacher education, teaching and social sciences disciplines. A collection of reference books is also available. The non-print collection includes audio and videocassettes, educational CDs, electronic journals and databases.
The library also has an online
catalogue, which provides easy access to materials
in the library
collection. It has four computers with Internet
access and multimedia facility for its members. The
circulation system is also computerised for efficient
checking of library materials.
