Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Programmes
Introduction
Continuing Professional Education (CPE) refers to any professional development initiative or programme offered to in-service or mid-career professionals who have completed their formal education. It is a process of engaging in educational pursuits with the goal of enhancing their professional knowledge and skills.
Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED) has been conducting CPE programmes for a number of years to cater to the development needs of teachers, teacher educators and others, to provide them with access to high-quality programmes in their areas of teaching during the summer break.
These summer programmes provide an exciting opportunity for those teachers and others in the field of education that have not been able to join AKU-IED's regular programmes due to various reasons.
Recognising the importance of upgrading the pedagogical knowledge and skills of teachers to improve the quality of education in the country, the Institute offers CPE in different areas, which include teaching of English language, innovative pedagogies in Mathematics and Science, library development, integration of IT in Education, etc.

Admissions
Admissions will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis.
Timings
Classes will be conducted from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM (Mondays to Fridays).
Certification
The course participants will be awarded a ‘Certificate of Participation' upon successful completion of the course.
Medium of Instruction
As English is the language of instruction, participants are expected to be comfortable to read, write and speak in English language.
Course Fee
The two-week courses are offered for PKR 4,500, while the fee for a one-week course is PKR 2,500. The fee includes instructional materials and tea.
