Clinical pathology and related disciplines encompass the widest interdisciplinary areas of knowledge the arena of medicine. Since pathological changes can occur anywhere in the human body in either localised or generalised form, pathologists need to be familiar with all the subtleties of internal medicine, surgery and ICU practices. By the same token individual medical specialities invariably deal with various disciplines of pathology related to their specific fields of interest and expertise. This brings a lot of specialists into our realm of activity.

Because of the intrinsic and evolving complexities of various disciplines, pathology is not complete without a broad spectrum of scientists who form an integral part of this multifaceted medical specialty.

Mombasa reflects East African coastal culture and overlooks Indian Ocean , the realm of light. Light has always been synonymous with any kind of illumination, realisation and discovery which is the most rewarding of human experiences.

We hope the 9th APECSA International Conference is going to be both a physical and spiritual meeting point for all those involved in the fight against diseases, with their different expertise in providing diagnostic solutions to help people to live fuller lives. We welcome you all and your contributions; we welcome all pathologists, scientists and clinicians to this exciting scientific event.
