Residency Programmes
One of the missions of Aga Khan University is to promote strong academic and clinical training for physicians to meet the educational and health needs of Pakistan.
With its commitment to postgraduate clinical medical education, the first residency programme began in November 1986. There are now established programmes in 31 specialties:
Cardiac Surgery (No positions are available for 2013)
Chemical Pathology
Clinical Haematology
Dermatology
Haematology
Histopathology
Microbiology
The trainees in these programmes are designated as “Residents”.
All current Postgraduate Clinical Training Programmes of Aga Khan University are recognised for FCPS Examination by the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan (CPSP). In addition, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Paediatrics programmes are approved by one or more Royal Colleges in the UK.
