Students in the clinical years, belonging to AKU and other Medical Colleges (both national and international) frequently approach the Department of Surgery for Clinical Electives. They are offered attachments in the surgical specialty/ies of their choice where they are exposed to outpatient, inpatient and operative management of patients. They also get the opportunity to attend teaching sessions of AKU medical students.
