The objectives of this study are to:

• Train private practitioners for TB case management according to NTP guidelines;
• Assess change in knowledge of physicians regarding TB case management after training on DOTS;
• Facilitate private practitioners in implementing DOTS in their own practices;
• Improve the quality of sputum smear microscopy through proper training and quality assurance; and
• Assess and compare any change in TB case detection after implementation of public-private mix project
