National Study of Hepatitis B & C in Pakistan: Lahore & Gujranwala Phase (Naveed Janjua, Juanita Hatcher)
This study was designed as a pilot study for a proposed national prevalence study of Hepatitis B and C, and will work closely with the National study proposed by PMRC. The primary objectives are to:
- To estimate the prevalence of HBV and HCV in Gujranwala and Lahore districts
- To identify the factors associated with acquiring HBV and HCV
The secondary objectives are to:
- assess knowledge, attitude and practices of adults about HBV and HCV
- estimate mean numbers of injections received during past three months and identify providers who administered these injections
- project the future morbidity, mortality related to HBV and HCV in Lahore and Gujranwala and to develop a model fro national study
