CHS to continue as a centre in the Global Network for Women's and Children's Health Research
Community Health Sciences (CHS) is proud to announce an award from the US National Institute Child Health and Human Development to continue as a centre in the Global Network for Women's and Children's Health Research. CHS will coordinate this Aga Khan University (AKU) wide effort to participate in this multi-centre collaborative research effort. The award is for five years and will receive $569,000 for the first year. This award includes funds for us to complete our ongoing large scale clinical trial of chlorhexidine vaginal and infant wash, as well as the Thatta-based cluster randomised trial of neonatal resuscitation training. In addition, it will allow us to initiate two new cluster randomised trials of complementary feeding and the use of antenatal corticosteroids for premature births. This award is through Drexel University where Dr Robert Goldenberg acts as Principle Investigator for the Global Network.
Congratulations to the entire Global Network team at AKU and the Senior Foreign Investigator, Dr Omrana Pasha.
