Dr S. Anwar elected Mayor

AKU Alumnus elected as Mayor

Dr Saud Anwar, an AKU alumnus from the MBBS batch of 1991, was recently elected mayor of South Windsor, Connecticut, USA, for the next two years. Dr Saud Anwar is a physician who specializes in Lung Diseases and Critical Care Medicine. He is currently serving as Chair of the Department of Family Practice and Internal Medicine of Manchester Memorial and Rockville General Hospitals. He has been actively involved in social service throughout his career, volunteering with many national and international organisations involved in education and health care. In 2011, he was elected Town Councillor for South Windsor, Connecticut.
